I was a geology major at Tufts so I always love to be asked to do stories on scientists and once in a blue moon I get asked to photograph a geologist. Quanta reached out about making portraits of marine geochemist Chris German at Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and I jumped at the opportunity.
