Ian MacLellan is a freelance photographer and filmmaker specializing in outdoor, documentary, portrait, higher education, travel, and running photography and filmmaking. As a fully insured FAA Part 107-licensed commercial drone pilot, he can bring unique aerial perspectives to every shoot. He is also an owner-operator with his own camera, audio, and lighting packages.
Ian is dedicated to capturing authentic moments, whether he’s on a mountain, in the ocean, in a robotics lab, or in a hospital. His versatile approach ensures compelling visuals in any environment.

Outside of assignments, Ian is an avid runner and cyclist, volunteers with Portland Wheelers, and has maintained a daily photoblog for 13 years. He is also co-producing the upcoming “Fifty Classic Trails” book, set for publication by Rizzoli in 2027.
